The State House in Annapolis was also where George Washington tendered his resignation as General of the Continental Army. Chick and Ruth’s Deli is often considered the best diner in town. Every meal is handmade, giving each dish an authentic flavor that keeps locals coming back time and time again. Those looking for a luxurious dining experience should check out Reynolds Tavern. This posh eatery has roots stretching back to 1777. Today, it stands as a historic landmark and a great place to stop for a delicious dinner.
 
If you have a sweet tooth, Annapolis has you covered. The area is home to two amazing ice cream shops. Storm Brothers Ice Cream Factory is located by Annapolis Bay and serves an extensive range of flavors. At the nearby Annapolis Ice Cream Company, locals can enjoy authentic homemade flavors. When it's too cold for ice cream, Sofi’s Crêpes offers a range of delicious sweet and savory French crêpes.
 

Things to Do

Maryland boasts four distinct seasons, meaning residents enjoy an ever-changing array of seasonal activities and events. Annapolis is home to many annual events that can be enjoyed around the calendar. Starting in the spring is the Naval Academy Commissioning Week. It is a week full of events and celebrations for the whole town to enjoy.

Summers are best spent enjoying the region’s exquisite natural beauty and temperate weather. Quiet Waters Park is a great place to stop for an afternoon stroll or get out on the water. For those wanting to enjoy the water, the Annapolis Sailing School is the place to go. This school offers lessons for all ages in the art of sailing. Residents can also enjoy sailboat rentals and evening charters.

Just as the first signs of autumn come to Annapolis, the Annapolis Songwriters Festival, hosted by Rams Head On Stage, comes to town. Each year this festival brings world-class talents to Annapolis. Fall is also when Annapolis Boat Shows host two fabulous boating expos. In October, these boat shows bring boats and yachts of all shapes and sizes to the shores of Annapolis. Autumn is the perfect time to walk the expansive B&A Trail and experience the region's stunning fall foliage.
